ARO Refresher Training
AMS can provide face-to-face or online ARO Refresher training. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority recommends that ARO/WSO staff conduct refresher training every 2 to 5 years (Advisory Circular 139-13).
This course is suitable for those who have already completed Aerodrome Reporting Officer training and can demonstrate currency for the last 2 years in a similar role.
Online ARO Refresher Option
Aerodrome Management Services has developed an interactive online refresher course for those currently working as an Aerodrome Reporting Officer and/or Works Safety Officer. The course is intended to challenge and increase the level of knowledge of existing Aerodrome Reporting Officers, who additionally want to ensure they are up to date with recent industry and legislation changes.
We generally advise that students should allow around two weeks to complete the course with an hour or two devoted each day to the training. Of course it can be done quicker if more time is dedicated to the course each day.
You will have access to the AMS Training Team during your course, available to provide meaningful feedback on your performance and answer any queries you may have.
For a one-off fee we offer dynamic content which is updated as industry practices and legislation change.
You can log back into the e-learning system at any time and re-read the material as a you see fit. Down the track if you wish to undertake the assessments again and be re-certified, there is an amount payable.
Face-to-Face ARO Refresher Option
If you prefer a face-to-face training option AMS can come to your site (class size capped at 15 people) to deliver a hybrid ARO Refresher course, which is three (3) days in duration. The course will be customised for your team and aerodrome.
The refresher course is designed for those ARO’s with existing fundamental knowledge and skills acquired during initial training and workplace practice. It is not suitable for those that are new to the role.
You are eligible to undertake our refresher training if you have:
- Completed an ARO course and/or Refresher within the last 5 years or
- Completed the Certificate III in Aviation (Aerodrome Operations) in the last 5 years
- Can demonstrate you have been undertaking the ARO role regularly for at least the last two years. We recommend providing three (3) copies of serviceability inspection forms that you have completed over the last two years as evidence.
This course is not Nationally Recognised. A Certificate of Completion will be awarded to participants who have successfully completed their course, or attended the full three days for site-based training.
